When flying by plane to this Caribbean island, there is only one transnational terminal named after the country's long- serving Prime Minister.

V.C. Bird International is the sole Antigua airport. It is located on the northeastern coast of the nation which is just a how many kilometers from the capital city of Saint John.

As you step in to this Antigua airport, the pristine blue waters and sandy white beaches are just within mere minutes. Also with their available luxurious villas that offers a breathtaking vista of the ocean.

There is not much hassle when going to the Antigua airport. There are many craft-liners that are bound to this Caribbean island on a regular basis. It connects with continents such as the North America and Europe to name a few.

From San Juan, V.C. Bird International receives flights from American Airlines four times a day. British Airways, in the otherhand, originating from London Gatwick, is scheduled four times a week. For those who are from New York, their choice is mostly to fly with Air Jamaica who can choose between three direct travels. When in Toronto, Air Canada offers service once a week, on a Saturday.

Tourists can also have another alternative by booking a chartered flight through inter- island airlines. It links neighboring places such as Saint Martin to the Antigua airport with not just one turn each day. Travel time for those who are from North America can expect touchdown after four hours. While those who are from Europe averages from eight to nine hours after take- off.

Upon reaching the V.C. Bird International, transporting to your destination is not a dilemma since there a lot of companies that provide car rentals such as Avis, Capital Rentals and Tours, Carters, Dion's, Dollar, Jacobs, Oakland, Richard's, Slane Supreme, Stead's and Thrifty.

Since there are public vehicle rides to and from the Antigua airport. It is but wise to have a reservation before traveling. However, there are taxis or cabs that are for hire on a fixed- fare manner to the capital city of Saint John or the other local hotels.

There is only one information desk on the ground site of V.C. Bird International but you can always research online for more information so you are all prepared for your vacation getaway.

If you ran out of cash, there is a 24- hour automatic teller machine available. There is also a section where you can have your currency exchanged.

If ever your flight is delayed for how many hours, you can continue your
shopping inside the Antigua airport. There is a duty- free store where you might just find that souvenir you have been craving to take home.
