    Galley Bay Antigua

Antigua, the largest of the British Leeward Islands, represents a more laidback side to the Caribbean. With warm yet breezy trade winds blowing in to its sheltering harbor and sunny days year-round, Antigua is a tropical haven for those who are looking to do nothing but relax under the hot Caribbean sun, watching sailboats lazily waving in the horizon or go out for a quick dip in the turquoise waters of Antigua's world-famous diving spots.

Whatever your choice, you need a place to stay that is equal to the unassuming elegance of the island. The Galley Bay Antigua Resort provides one such accommodation.

    The Property

Offering you a pristine beachfront location and an atmosphere all its own, the Galley Bay Antigua Resort is an all-inclusive retreat for the discerning traveler. Great value complimented by a secluded setting that affords you a most spectacular view of Antigua's tranquil west coast.

The Galley Bay Antigua Resort lays sprawled across forty acres of tropical gardens filled with exotic plants that you never see anywhere but right here in Antigua. On one side of the property is a bird sanctuary lagoon where you can get a glimpse of rare species of birds. Or you could go on a little excursion along the three quarter mile beach right on the property.

Great care has been taken to ensure that the Galley Bay Antigua Resort does not in any way disrupt the natural surroundings. Instead, the thatch, bamboo and terracotta cottages complement the quiet elegance pervading the entire property, successfully establishing an ambience of refined rusticity in the public areas.

Access to the Galley Bay Antigua Resort is via a wooden bridge, thus ensuring that only very little disruption streams in from the outside world. For a more appreciative view of the sparkling ocean from the property, a picturesque wooden deck is provided.

A sugar mill reception is available for the more curious guests while golf carts wait outside, ready to whisk you back to the 69 suites and cottages of the resort.

    Accommodations

All guest rooms of the Galley Bay Antigua Resort have terracotta tiled floors, louvered windows, ceiling fans, air conditioning, mini refrigerators, hair dryers, coffee machines, bathrobes, wall saves and bathrooms with showers and a king size bed.

There are three kinds of accommodations available. The Gauguin cottages sit right on the edge of the bird sanctuary lagoon, just 50 yards from the beach while the Superior Beachfront Rooms reflect the original Galley Bay Antigua with their traditional low-rise rooms with patios that step right onto the white sand of the beach. The Deluxe Beachfront Rooms on the other hand are well spacious and definitely larger than the Superior Beachfront Rooms with walk in closets, large beach patios, and modern designer bathrooms.
