    Current Events In Aruba

Just because you're off to have some fun in the sun does not mean that what is currently happening in Aruba is none of your business. Of course, nobody expects you to make a stand with the locals about a national issue. But it pays to know the current events in Aruba to put you on your toes. Look at it this way, you don't really want to go to a war bringing your best sword and finding out too late that everyone else is bringing their guns, right? Well, nobody's asking you to start visiting the firing range, but a quick scan at the news for the current events in Aruba might just save you from ruining your trip.

If you surf the internet for the current events in Aruba, you don't really expect to find Mr. Krueger out on the loose, killing Arubans in their sleep. Generally, Aruba is a low-crime-rate island. But that doesn't also mean that petty crimes such as thefts, robbery, pickpockets, and the like are unheard of. However, these are so rare they barely make it to the headlines.

Possibly the most talked-about among the current events in Aruba is the disappearance of the Alabama teenager, Natalie Holloway. She was last seen on May 30, 2005 which was the final night of her trip to the island. It has been over a year since Holloway went missing, but this tragedy has always been in the contents of the news. There have been three main suspects who were last seen with the victim before she disappeared. But due to insufficient evidence, all three were released. One of the current events in Aruba tells us that one of those three suspects recently left Aruba to attend college in Holland. Authorities assure everyone that investigation will continue and that the suspects are to remain within Dutch territory pending investigation.

On the lighter side of the current events in Aruba, it was found out that immigrants contributed to the population growth of the island. Although Aruba has exceeded its 100,000 inhabitants since last year, the continuous population growth is due to the increasing number of immigrants that settled on the island. Even if some Arubans left to emigrate, the number of those who came to Aruba is more than twice those who left. Of course, there's the baby boom theory. The government and other organizations are now formulating plans on policy level.

The current events in Aruba may have been centered on the Holloway case. This is such a bad thing for an island who boasts of having one of the lowest crime rates in the region. According to top officials, this is just an isolated case. Indeed, no matter where we are, evil lurks.
