    Fiji Diving

Especially renowned for its soft coral reefs, the island of Fiji provides an exceptional diving experience. Fiji is made up of over three-hundred islands speckled on a forty-two-thousand square miles of deep-sea. Fiji diving is indeed among the world's most excellent diving, particularly the astonishing assortment of soft corals that lay beneath its azure waters.

The eco-system of Fiji's reefs is nourished by rich nutrients that stream up from the Tonga Trench, as well being swayed from numerous rivers, making it notable for its complex environment. Although the Great Barrier Reef may offer kilometers of greater diversity, it does not change much; unlike Fiji's waters, swimming for a few meters one is likely to see several soft and hard corals, dense groups of fairy basslets, sea fans; and swimming a few more meters will likely lead to an encounter with clusters of barracuda.

The best Fiji diving in Viti Levu can be found on the western side; the Pacific Harbour and Coral Coast is where the popular Bega Lagoon can be located, which is a basin of a sixteen-kilometer extinct volcano. Just approximately twelve-kilometers from the coast of Viti Levu, is Vatulele which is famous for its red prawns, considered as sacred by the island's natives.

Fiji diving on Viti Levu's northwest part is where divers can head for the island groups of Mamanuca and Yasawa; to the south of these islands is Kadavua, where reefs gather such as the Tavuki, Namalata, Astrolabe, and Solo reefs gives a unique Fiji diving experience.

For those seeking land-based Fiji diving, Taveuni and Vanua Levua are mainly good, and ecologically-minded workers have buoyed a number of sites to stop harm from anchors. Around these islands, the most brilliant sites for diving include: the Rainbow Reef, where more than twenty diving places can be found; and the Somosomo Straits, which is the abode of the Great White Wall - one of the most popular dive sites of Fiji.

For the more remote Fiji diving sites, there are live-aboard dive tours available that would bring divers to remote islands for diving like Ngau (the island has no resort and permission from the local chief to dive in its waters is needed.

Fiji diving is deemed to be special because of its untouched and intact reef system, as well as its biological diversity that is exceptionally distinct; Fiji diving absolutely offers every diver a unique diving encounter worth experiencing.
