    Top Five Must-See Attractions - #4

    #4 Mykonos – For Sun-Worshippers and Windsurfers

Mykonos is one of the Cyclades, a group of islands on the Aegean Sea, which includes Tinos, Siros, Paros, and Naxos. A top tourism destination, it offers everything that a Greek Island paradise offers and more – crystalline waters, windsurfing, taverns complete with seaside views and loud music, and even full nudity.

As Greece’s playground, Mykonos is popular among jet set visitors. In fact, many Greek and international celebrities have their summer residences here. It’s not unusual to find many familiar faces you’ve seen in magazines and movies walking the roads and having dinner at small, street-side tables of a local Greek taverna.

The Island of Mykonos is most famous for its beautiful beaches. Here is a brief list of some of the top beaches you can find here:

    Agios Sostis

If you don’t like brushing elbows with the tourist crowd too much, take the road beyond Panormos beach where Agios Sostis, one of Mykonos’ more remote beaches, awaits you east onto the bay. There is zero accommodation and no crowd (in fact, you’ll be lucky to stumble upon one or two couples as you explore the whole beach). What this beach offers is peace and quiet and a single restaurant where the food is great.

    Agios Stefanos

Accessible via a variety of transports – taxi, private vehicle, or the regular bus service from town – Agios Stefanos is a well-developed, family-oriented beach. There is a wide range of accommodation just steps away from the beach, as well as several cafes and tavernas located right on the beach.

    Agios Yannis

Agios Yannis is one of the more beautiful beaches lining the west side of Mykonos and facing the Island of Delos. In addition to its exquisite collection of fine white sand, Agios Yannis also has small coves to offer to the general public. You might know the place from the award-winning motion picture, “Shirley Valentine.”
