    Us Virgin Islands Flag

The US Virgin Islands flag represent the all the beauty of the islands and its people.

The United States Virgin Islands, St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix, is the most visited tourist destination in the Caribbean. The capital of the Virgin Islands is Charlotte Amalie, which is located in St. Thomas, and its government is organized as an unincorporated territory of the United States with policy relations between the Virgin Islands and the US under the jurisdiction of the Office of Insular Affairs, US Department of Interior.

The long standing, fortunate international status of the US Virgin Islands is not solely based on its pristine beaches, warm weather, and crystal-clear waters. The islands are also culturally diverse, ethnically rich, and artistically exciting. The islanders are friendly and always have smiles on their faces. How can you resist a vacation on theses islands? And all the islands' beauty is wrapped up in safety, security, and efficiency of the US Virgin Islands Flag.
The stories behind the US Virgin Islands flag are so interesting and intriguing but let me just make the long story short. The US Virgin Islands former name is Danish West Indies; in 1917 the United States bought the US Virgin Island and quickly changed the name to what it is now. During the time when it was still Danish West Indies, they used to have different flags. There were blue ensign, white ensign, and blue pennant.

The United States Virgin Islands flag was adopted by Executive Order on May 17th 1921. Upon a white field between, the letters VI, an American eagle in yellow is displayed with the shield of the United States on its breast. The American eagle has a branch of laurel in one talon, and three blue arrows in the other talon. The letters VI and the three arrows are in azure blue and the blue of the shield is the blue of the arms and flag of the United States. The three arrows that the American eagle is holding in one of its talons represent the three US Virgin Islands.

The flag of every nation represent the beauty not only of the country but also to all the people living with harmonious relationship with each other and to all the tourists who come to visit to the place they call home. Every one of us takes pride on the natural beauty of our own country as you take pride on your own.
